Empowering women with micro finance for sustainable sustenance

The Lifeline Foundation was established on 1st July 2010 by a group of philanthropists and concerned residents of Bangalore city. It is dedicated to assisting underprivileged individuals who struggle to obtain credit or face unfair lending terms, with the goal of eradicating exploitative lending practices among the impoverished.


Vision: To create a fair society where individuals are liberated from poverty.


Mission: To empower the less fortunate by offering financial assistance, resources, guidance, and support in a morally upright manner, enabling them to achieve financial stability.


Loan Disbursement Stats

  • Loan disbursements have been increasing annually since the beginning and have now accumulated to ₹23.7 Cr ($3.44 Mn) as of 31-Mar-24

  • In FY24, the total loan disbursement value has risen to ₹2.95 Cr ($0.36Mn) – the highest ever for Lifeline

  • The number of loan disbursements has been steadily increasing and has reached a total of 34,314 as of 31-Mar-24

  • The average loan amount per borrower per cycle in 2023-24 has consistently risen to ₹9346 (~$114), with loan amounts ranging from ₹5,000 to ₹15,000


Loan Collection Stats

  • Since its establishment, loan collections have consistently increased each year and amounted to a total of ₹19.1 Cr ($2.82 Mn) as of 31-Mar-24.

  • The pandemic and lockdowns caused a decline in loan collections in FY21 and FY22, as illustrated.

  • In FY24, there was a notable recollection rate of 98%.

  • FY21 experienced the most severe impact on collections due to the pandemic.

  • With an average of 2.5 loan cycles per year, this indicates a collection efficiency of over 99% in each loan cycle.
